VISITORS ARE WELCOME! I welcome visitors to the farm. In fact, I encourage you to visit the source of your meat. However, you must call me in advance to arrange your visit, because I operate a 250-acre farm by myself, and I am often not available. The second reason you need to call is for directions, because my farm is in an isolated area of Moore County, and most mapping programs on the Internet can't find where I live! I can email directions to you. It is a beautiful drive. If we can make arrangements for a visit far enough in advance, and if you are willing to bring along a good bottle of cabernet sauvignon (AND a designated driver!) we just might be able to find some pasture fed meat to cook on the grill while you are here! The last benefit from visiting our farm is a unique experience that, as far as I know, is not available anywhere else in the State of Tennessee. During a visit to Switzerland many years ago, I was introduced to the cow bells that Swiss cattlemen use on their cows. Farmers put them on cows when they graze cattle high up in the Alps during the summer. The terrain is so rugged that they can't see their cows, but they can "hear" where the cows are. So I have placed Swiss cow bells on some of my herd. It's comparable to listening to wind chimes, and it is a beautiful, relaxing and addictive musical sound! Back to ABOUT THE FARM |
